Growing Growing Growing
We're working on having nice round heads so Dr. Filak suggested that Carson and Claire play in new toys that have their heads up instead of flat on the ground. Hope it works!

New Kitchen floor
Old floor
Adding 3 inches (about)
Drying floor
Today we had the floor raised in the old laundry room (which originally--1944-- was a one car garage). The guys mixed the concrete in the front drive and poured it onto the floor. How wonderful. We'll see what tomorrow brings!
Also the kids had their Dr. checkup today...shots and more shots. They did pretty well and got rave reviews from our Dr. Filak. She's so encouraging and helpful. How lucky we are to have such healthy kiddos.
Carson weighed in at 16lbs.
Claire weighed in at 12.35lbs.
They're full of baby tylenol and sleeping currently!

Just day one--Project new kitchen
Well, we're getting a new kitchen. Currently the kitchen is one of the smallest rooms in our home holding no more than 2-3 people at a time. I'm so excited to begin this project! My hope is that our kitchen will continue to be a place of laughter and warmth (not from the oven) and be filled with many more feet. The pictures below are before and after of today only.

Four months old
Today Claire and Carson are 4 months old! We've all come so far since March 15! Lately they've 'found each other' meaning they smile, talk (coo), watch, hold hands...it's all so cute!! To commemorate the day Carson rolled over from tummy to back for the first time and Claire sat unassisted in her bumbo seat for the first time! To many this may seem boring or uneventful. But for months we've watched and cared for these lumps of luv and now they're growing into little people with personalities!! We couldn't be more thrilled! It also reminds me how important positive reinforcement and encouragement can be to all and especially little people.
So sorry the picture is blurry...I was trying to quickly capture the moment. I'll send more pictures later!

New toy
We have a new toy that gets the kids kicking! It's a bear head that sings and flashes his red nose when they kick the ball. They both seem to enjoy playing and exercising. Really only one baby can fit under it at a time and it's interesting to see the one playing looking around for the other baby. "Where is my brother; where is my sister?" They're great friends!! :)

The kids are growing so fast it seems that I can't blog enough.
Carson started eating rice cereal this week. We weren't sure how he'd like it at first. But very quickly he's loving every bite. He pumps his arms and legs and has it smeared all over his smiling face!! What a showman! Claire (as I mentioned earlier) is chatting much more and becoming more active during play time. Today she turned over half way...see the picture included. They are both so close to sitting up. Their heads are still a little wobbly but we're getting there. I made our 4 month Dr. appt. for next week. I'm interested to see what Dr. Filak has to say about their growth and development. Enjoy more pictures!

Lake Jackson on July 5, 2008
On Saturday we went to Lake Jackson for more good food, family and friends.
This was Carson and Claire's first (belated) trip to Wade's home town. They met more new family members and were wonderful again with naps and new feeders. What special and sweet babies God has blessed me with. Claire "beefed up" her chatter today with more new sounds and facial expressions. Now Carson has a new talking buddy besides his mom and dad. It's so great to hear their voices talking back and forth.

The Maedgen's Party
Boy did we have fun...great food, lots of people, swimming...we had a fabulous time. Claire and Carson were great; napped in a new place (3 naps actually) and were fed by different people. They are troopers. Here are a few pictures to remember the day.

Happy 4th of July!
The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays! I love the food, fireworks, music, friends, being outside and celebrating this great country where we live...it's a great time of year. So naturally I dressed Claire and Carson in festive outfits. We're going to a party at our friend's (the Maedgens) house this afternoon. They're expecting their first son in August. How exciting! I am sure I'll update again with fun photos from their house.

Welcome!
Here's the newest addition to our world...a blog. Not sure how often I'll be able to update or add new but we'll give it a try. Claire and Carson are growing so quickly! I hope to be able to keep more of our friends and family updated with their lives. The last 3 months have been so exciting, exhausting, one of a kind. Each day is a new day for us all. I hope you will enjoy the pictures and stories as we all grow along.
